Sometimes, the Dog Walks You

Have you seen the video where your Derek got dog walked by Jay Dyer"
---
My reply:
Greetings, Gorilla Ganster.
It's "great" to meet you. ;)
I never saw that incident.
But the script is always the same.
Presuppositionalism is gaslighting via:
* semantic sleights of hand
* asserting as "facts" and as "necessary" things that are neither,
and
* circular reasoning, to satisfy their special pleading.
It's also an attempt to pre-dismiss all challenges to the presupper's politically weaponized, religious *identity*
via
* social humiliation,
and
* orchestrated confusion (aka: mind-fogging).
gaslighting
/ˈɡasˌlīdiNG/
noun
The practice of psychologically manipulating someone into questioning their own sanity, memory, or powers of reasoning.
The goal of gaslighting is to get people so profoundly doubting their own critical faculties that they'll go "soft" or otherwise abandon their criticisms of an abuser, thinking, "maybe he's right.
Maybe I really can't trust my own mind.
And in that case, perhaps I really can't justify my perceptions about my own life circumstances, my own character, etc..
So then perhaps he is more qualified than me .... to say what is true or good.
So then, perhaps I should adopt his narrative about
* what really happened in all relevant history,
* the true nature of my relationships,
* what counts as facts,
* what counts as logic,
* what counts as a healthy and true relationship,
* what does or doesn't count as abuse,
and
* what the basis of my personal value and identity should be based on.
So then, perhaps this stronger and more confident voice should be respected as a moral authority, and as the true narrator of my story of self."
---
It's the act of a *conquering colonizer of minds*.
It's people being treated as physical and metaphysical real estate.
- Territory to flag-plant and own in the name of a "King".
-And unquestionable author and authority.
-A God;
who is really just your own super-ego.
It's the ultimate *narcissist's mask*.

The word "pre" in presuppositionalism means "before".
Here, it's a confession that the antagonist has started with a conclusion and then reasoned backwards.
--
The next word is "suppose".
This is the thing they did "before" attempting to reason on the issues.
sup·pose
/səˈpōz/
verb
1.
Assume that something is the case on the basis of (perceived) evidence or (perceived) probability but without proof or certain knowledge.
"I suppose I got there about half past eleven."
Similar:
assume
take for granted
presume
fancy
be of the opinion
suspect
have a sneaking suspicion
sense
trust
guess
surmise
reckon
conjecture
theorize
divine
opine
alleged
rumored
claimed
specious

The last part of the term is either "ism" or "ist".
This doesn't always mean that the action being done is relevant to the doer's personal identity. But in this case, that's exactly it.
--
Presuppositionalists
start from their indoctrinated, control-system bias,
assert their camp's central ideas as fact,
and then only dignify arguments that complete the circle.
--
Meanwhile, it's really only a small % of Christians who ground their epistemology in what Presuppositionalists do.
So if we humor the argument, then most Christians are without justification.
So their efforts to throw atheists under the bus ... result in most Christians falling to the same fate.
That is, at least, a novel solution to the trolley problem :)
Most have never thought along those lines.
Most have never even heard of it.
Meanwhile, many Christians who have stumbled across Presuppositionalism ... reject it as wholly unreasonable, and as antithetical to the goal of being "fishers of men".
Why?
Because it's obnoxiously antisocial, ego-competative (hence, parading it around as a way to "dog walk" their targets), and absolutely not the answer to "WWJD?".
Meanwhile, ...
What Derek could have done is:
Ground his epistemology in SpongeBob as the true Eternal Hall Monitor.
-The same as how Muslims render their epistemology "grounded" by assuming Allah,
and all the other religions can ground theirs in whatever they too imagine.
Consider, also, the ancient Stoics.
Their ideas about "God" were incompatible with Jay Dyer's.
Their ideas about cosmology were also incompatible with Dyer's.
And yet, the earliest Christians (so very Hellenized as they were from the very start) ... grounded much of their "epistemology" in the wisdom of Stoics.
Now, in reality, the reason I confidently perceive that I have 1 apple ... is because I learned how to count AND how to identify an apple ... before I was even old enough to grasp all of the allegedly "necessary" concepts which sly and desperate apologists bake into the word "God".
In truth, the basic structure of my worldview was built via the same sensory experiences as everyone else's.
This begins in our infancy.
\By the time we matured into "object permanence" (as toddlers), the earliest stages of our epistemological grounding were built.
Upon this, everything else was built.
Presuppositionalists share this true grounding.
They, too, learned to trust it as the foundation upon which they make fluid assessments of probabilities about the existence, nature, and causes of objects and phenomena.
This is why they never worry or inquire ... about whether or not the cars and planes they travel in ... were built and maintained by people who ground their data-collection and logical faculties in a "God"-based epistemology.
