 ok so to be fair Russel brand recently converted to Christianity. The charges r from stuff that he did in the early 2000s. Christianity does not condone these actions. They are evil. We just simply believe that God will forgive anyone if they have TRULY repented, which does not mean just asking forgiveness. It means to literally turn away from. I want to believe that Russel Brand turned away from those things but only God can truly tell if his repentance was genuine. U can’t diss on religion bc the people r imperfect. The point of religion is to have a relationship with a perfect God that loves us. Not to necessarily be made perfect but we should strive to be better everyday by repenting and changing our evil ways that r against a perfect and good Go that just wants to know and love u.

Kaine Doman ma'am. If you took my comment as a dis on your religion, you need to examine why you feel so defensive about it and not lecture me on what your religion stands for. If someone needs religion and the threat of eternal punishment to be a good person, then they aren't a good person.

Kaine Doman he converted to Christianity probably 48 hours after all of those allegations came out. It's performative garbage. He wanted to look good so that the courts would look at his Christianity instead of his character. That tends to be how things run in this country because people don't understand that Christians can be terrible people and most of the time are.

When does "God" plan to repent?

If he cursed all humans with the failings that often lead to such behaviors,

we can pretend that libertarian "Free Will" is a thing. But that still wouldn't get "God" off the hook for wiring human brains to go so far off the rails, and then just sitting back in silence and watching countless innocent victims get brutally assaulted and sustaining life-altering and life-ending injuries.

So if a "God" wants to "forgive us" for the inevitable results of pre-sabotaging humans in the first place, ... fine.

But ...

when any given human actually does feel bad for something horrible they've done, and then actually does "die to their former self" and get "reborn" as a new person who would never do those things to anyone after that,

...

Why wouldn't that "God" just say "There's no longer anything to forgive, because this reasonably counts as a new person"

OR

at least "maybe I will count this as the same person but then say they are forgiven because they repented"?

You can say "he does".

But really, per your theology, "he doesn't".

It only counts as a person deserving forgiveness if they:

FIRST mentally psyche themselves into believing that one of God's multiple personalities was puppeting a Kosher Meat puppet, and then stopped animating it for a couple of days after he intentionally provoked the local authorities into mistaking that puppet for a "human" so they'd "kill" *it*?

And for what?

To satisfy an arbitrary rule that God decided needed to be a rule?

And for what?

For the twisted game he decided to play with everyone's lives;

- a game he planned in advance, before he even made any humans.

And for what?

So that he'd have horrors to "save" us from.

And for what?

So that lucky correct-religion guessers would offer praise that is far more satisfying for a God's insatiable ego ... compared to the less dramatic praise that would have otherwise been offered by people who never needed to be rescued from anything.

He's like someone who pays someone else to assault your entire family in a dark alley, while he hides nearby and watches.

Afterwards, random members from competing versions (they can't all be true) of his "totally not a cult" show up to offer;

* love-bombing,

* coercive threats (called "friendly warnings"),

and

* I.O.Us for eventually restoring the health and life for anyone who can successfully find him and then adequately flatter him.

But to seal that deal, you have to use your "wicked" and "unreliable heart", and magical thinking, to "intuit" which "totally not a cult" is the real one.

But don't worry!~ Because even though most God-fans guess WRONGLY (and are, thus, still going to hell), ...

YOU are special. So there's no way you're gonna guess wrong.

Even then, to truly seal the deal, you must surrender.

You must submit to "God"?

But how?

By submitting to other fallible men who claim (with bad evidence) to "represent God",

as moral authorities over your life.

For how long?

For the rest of your life.

Those fallible men are going to need regular donations of your money, and other monetarily valuable personal-resource sacrifices from you.

Why?

So that "God" can bless them with a nice life, and so that they can use the rest of it to hijack political systems and colonize across the globe.

"God" has a lot of streets to cross, to reach people he's ineptly chasing after.

He needs EVERYONE to hear The Divine Racketering Scheme.

A mysterious BOSS owns this town and everyone in it.

His "authorised representatives" go around (without evidence) claiming he sent them ... with a "friendly warning" that he doesn't "WANT" to have to do very serious violence to us. But he won't have a choice if we don't sign a contract for his protection.

BOSS sure hopes we will let him protect us ... FROM HIM.

We can wait until AFTER we commit to that, before we talk about "donations" and other "personal sacrifices" we can make, to show how serious we are.

But like a frail old lady, he can't REACH people without the heroic help of lowly humans.

Humans;

who act as VESSELS carrying his wisdom and power to the furthest reaches.

James Apperson God didn’t wire our brains to go off the rails. Here’s the best way I can explain it. When God created us he told us we can have dominion over everything that he has created on the Earth as long as we don’t do one thing. Adam & Eve were the first humans and they disobeyed God’s ONE command. This one decision that Adam & Eve made is what allowed sin into the world causing God’s creation to be corrupted. That corruption is what has caused us over time to be able to “go so far off the rails.” But God doesn’t want that God wants us to live amazing lives with him. God views us as his sons and daughters he feels sorrow when we feel sorrow. He sympathizes with us. That’s why he knew that nothing we could do could get us back on track, so in his love HE gave us a way to get back on track. Jesus Christ being God came down from Heaven to live amongst us and teach us what it looks like to live for and with God. But the earth rejected him. The world being so far corrupted couldn’t allow itself to accept him. So Jesus fixes that by choosing to die and take all of that corruption onto hisself, but not only that. He defeated it (it being death since that’s what sin leads to) so after he died he resurrected after defeating death. Jesus then tells us we no longer have to pay our Debt. We r no longer in the negative because of our sin. All we have to do is accept that he has done that and chose to grow closer to Him. We are all going to make mistakes but if u truly give ur life to the Lord then that corruption no longer has any hold on u. Does that mean that your past actions won’t have consequences simply because u have a relationship with God? No of course not. Russel Brand is about to receive his consequences and I’m sure he understands that. But don’t blame religion, Christianity, and God for something that someone that was apart from him. It is NEVER and I REPEAT NEVER okay to sin (rape, murder, putting any other gods before actual God, etc.) Idk if Russel Brand has truly repented and except God. That’s for God to determine and know. I’m not defending his actions. I am simply defending my religion. There r simply too many people who choose to hate Christianity bc of either people who call themselves Christians but don’t live as if that were the case and preach false doctrine, or because of what a NEW BELIEVER did in their past before the ever knew God.

According to Christian theology, he did.

Per that God-theory (which is always stated dishonestly as God-fact), ...

"God" preplanned to curse all of Adam and Eve's descendants

with tragic failings.

These include:

* being born in ignorance,

* vulnerability to being misinformed and not realizing it,

* vulnerability of being lied to and not realizing it,

* vulnerability to being emotionally manipulated and not realizing it,

* vulnerability to being indoctrinated as children, where well-intending adults take unscrupulous advantage of children's

* natural ignorance,

* helpless dependence,

* unearned trust,

* and lack of critical thinking skills,

...

to write false facts, half-truths, and logically fallacious nonsense into children's minds as "true" and as "good";

without those children being able to know the difference, ...

Before I continue with that list,

let's take a moment to reflect back on what I've already listed:

What are some of the ways vulnerable minds are being emotionally manipulated?

Keep in mind that I'm *not* focusing or limiting this point to what happens in churches (although, that's going to get some attention here too), ...

We all recognize, generally, that there is such a thing as "propaganda".

It takes many forms.

Some of those forms are more effective than others.

But "by and large", it works.

Even worse yet, there are even more tragically serious designed vulnerabilities for unscrupulous humans to derail and hijack vulnerable minds with.

Unscrupulous, manipulative humans have discovered, utilized, and refined methods to exploit critical and common flaws in the human psyche.

But they didn't CREATE those flaws.

They merely realized those flaws are already there, as part of our "design".

Some of those design flaws include vulnerability to everything on the "BITE" model of cult programming.

Now, if you're being honest with yourself,

you'll notice several things on that list that are absolutely standard for Christian evangelical churches.

However, that's not even my point.

My point is that humans have been designed to easily be derailed by other humans without even realizing it.

And those derailments account for a lot of the chaos and suffering in our world.

Also, that accounts for why many humans are "Christians".

Also, it also accounts for why many humans are in other religions. -Which then makes it "God's" fault that so many people live and die in rival religions.

Consider, also,:

Different types of intelligence factor into every person's perceptions about what's real.

These also factor into how they feel about any of it.

Now, we have vast libraries of modern information available to a billion people.

What has been the result?

A wide range of interests in the types of data people are curious about.

If someone is really fascinated with BUGS, they'll make time to learn a lot about bugs.

And that's ok, right?

Except it's not ok. Because that's distracting them from potential curiosity about religion.

Now, really, there is nothing about any God-related questions ... which are logically, ethically, or otherwise "obvious" as moral imperatives which demand our curiosity.

There's nothing about rainbows, puppies, family, or virtues ...

which will necessarily (nor even just reasonably) compel a kindhearted person to think:

"Oh hey! Look at how lovely that is.

Oh crap.

That must mean a Super-Person must be playing a high-stakes game of hide and seek with all humans.

I better stop reading about other things, and start obsessing about finding a fellow mortal human qualified to tell me what that Super-Person wants from me!".

And yet, according to Christians, ...

That person's love of learning and curiosity about BUGS is "eating up" the secret amount of time they have remaining in the hourglass for their remaining hours on this Earth.

They don't really have time for other avenues of discovery, because they also have to make time to shop, eat, travel, shower, sleep, work, etc..

So here they are, in this big old world, TEMPTED BY GOD (because of the intriguing "design" of bugs; appreciated greatly because of that person's intelligence) to be curious about BUGS.

It's distracting them from potentially/maybe wondering about invisible Super-People; essential data about which ... might be hiding in a different book or building somewhere.

Consider also the effects of abuse and neglect on fetuses, babies, toddlers, children, teens, and young adults.

I know it's strange to think about neglecting a fetus. But that can take various forms.

A developing fetus needs a wealth of specific nutritional elements.

It's also vulnerable to inherited genetic flaws and mutations.

It's also vulnerable to the pregnant female's emotional states.

If the pregnant female is under chronic and significant emotional distress during gestation, it sets the fetus's "epigenetic switches" to the same 'fight/fight/fawn' state.

That state is potentially permanent.

The infant will be born with those switches set to those settings.

As a result, its brain will be extra-vulnerable to all forms of distress.

As a result, every stage of its neurological development (including brain morphology and chemical states) will be gradually shaped and wired into a brain that generates mind-states which feel, think, and behave maladaptively.

In some cases, those effects will be subtle.

In some cases, those effects will be dramatic.

That human will also be extra-vulnerable to traumas from neglect and abuse over the years, as it's still developing (until roughly age 26).

If, along the way, that human is subject to social circumstances which are known to cause Major Personality Disorders,

....

The resulting/emerging adult will be permanently dangerous to other humans.

Various religions can boast all they want about alleged miracles.

Maybe "God" will fix "the cataracts of Sam's mum" (a quote from a song from Tim Minchin). But he literally never cures Major Personality Disorders.

So now we have a human who (due to absolutely no fault of their own)

will never experience whichever mental states their personality disorder prevents.

In the case of clinical Narcissism and sociopathy, they'll never experience the mental states we call "compassion", "empathy", "guilt", or "personal accountability".

They can't help it, because (for example) the right side of a part of their brain called the "supramarginal gyrus" didn't develop correctly.

#DesignFlaw.

An all-knowing, all-wise, all-powerful, and ever-present Super-Person

could have "intelligently designed" and also "responsibly designed" fetuses, infants, toddlers, children, and young adults ... to be impervious to any damages which they do not "freely choose" to subject themselves to.

Such a Super-Person could also be responsible enough to provide a fully comprehensive parenting guide;

woven into everyone's DNA.

They could also have pre-arranged for visiting angel-doctors and angel-counselors, who fly around faster than Santa Claus to visit everyone in need.

Why?

So that thousands of years of humans would always and completely know exactly what all of those stages of development (and also themselves, and also other humans) require.

Even today, we don't have a complete understanding of everything a growing mind needs.

Without that, ...

We all remain dangerously at the mercy of circumstance,

because of countless critical flaws in our "design" and equally critical gaps in our knowledge.

As a result, countless many people think, feel, and behave in ways that SEEM reasonable-enough at the time, ..

while they hurt themselves and others in ways they either

a.) don't realize about,

or (in other cases)

b.) literally lack the ability to care about;

-And all due to exactly zero fault of their own.

I could go on,

and on,

and on.

By now, I'm sure nobody doubts that.

I'm sure I don't need to go into the effects of:

* invisible heavy metals in freshwater sources,

* innocent-looking plants and mushrooms,

* the very (very) dramatic effects on human cognition (minds going off the rails) due to eating the wrong foods and thus feeding our worst gut bacteria while accidentally starving our best gut bacteria,

* the evil-making "righteous high" chemical reactions of naturally occurring neurochemicals,

which are triggered and worsened in churches,

etc..

Now that we know our "design" causes minds to go 'off the rails' due to zero fault of their own, ...

What can we do with that understanding?

We can embrace wisdom;

which is the responsible, rational, and ethical application of data.

In this case, it means honestly admitting that no matter who or what wired human biology to behave as it does, ...

That biology ultimately robs humans of adequate and equal opportunities to "choose" to have minds which never "go off the rails".

We arrive on this Earth

pre-sabotaged with

* blank-slate ignorance,

* helplessly unjust dependencies,

and

* biologically faulty brain-rails,

which pose ample opportunities for other humans (often in ignorance, often in malice) to hijack our minds and thus hijack our lives, without us being able to adequately, reliably, prevent it.

Just as importantly, ...

The reason Conservative, evangelizing, moral-authoritarian religions don't teach this to members ...

is because:

They do not want you to know about it.

Why not?

Because those religions have been socially engineered to seek out, find, worsen, and exploit those vulnerabilities.

They are an age-old PSY OP.

They are a rabble of begrudgingly networked mafia families

who are often forced to cooperate with each other to maximize and protect their own interests.

~All of it~

is geared to maximize their perpetual influx of money, power, prestige, and privilege.

~All of it~

requires demonizing and disadvantaging rival religions

and vulnerable people groups.

Why?

Because they need to "other" enough people that they never run out of dangerous people to:

a.) self-righteously identify against,

and

b.) "save" people from.
