Why I Hate Biblical Religiosity

 Biblical religiosity ...

keeps sexism going,

perpetuates social, political, and corporate hierarchies that have always advantage men at a corresponding disadvantage to women,

inspired the invention of color-based racism,

and
(usually) hides the fact that their own religions are all a form of religion-based racism. 

Ideological (views and values) groups rooted in Biblical ideals ... perpetuate the "othering" (even to the extent of literally demonizing) of all people who are "guilty" of "unapproved" ways of thinking, feeling, identifying, living, and loving.

They've colonized across the globe, with both physical and psychological violence.

They've brought us:

inquisitions,

holy wars,

literal witch hunts,

and pointlessly destructive social divisions within families.

They do (and have always) functioned as systemic catalysts for causing, worsening, and sustaining severe mental illness (even among children).

They drive countless LGBT children and adults to un-alive themselves.

They orchestrate the systematic suppression of compassion, personal accountability, and critical thinking skills.

They actively sabotage the development of internal personal strengths, confidence, and independence.

They sabotage young minds' abilities to recognize psychosocial abuse.



They sabotage their parent's later efforts to warn and rescue their own children from domestic abusers. 


They de-incentivize people's focus and investment into healing and creating in our real world.

 
They've helped to create and sustain the transatlantic slave trade,

caused the need for a bloody Civil War,

greatly worsened how bloody that war would be, 

organized and carried out the holocaust of the Indian nations,

created the holocaust of the 3rd Reich,

and caused the need for every Civil Rights battle ever fought in developing nations.

By propagating ways of thinking that are antithetical to peace, they've helped to incentivize every war that has ever happened in every society where "Biblical" religiosity was culturally dominant.

They infiltrate, destabilize, and weaponize governments (this is happening right now, in the USA).
They incentivize and rationalize domestic terrorism, (examples: how white evangelical Christians reasoned and behaved during the Covid pandemic. And how they've installed a clinically Narcissistic, sociopathic, and fascist domestic terrorist into the US Presidency; twice).

Worse yet, MAGA is, in large part, a Christian Nationalist movement.
Those Christian Nationalists literally plan to destroy the entire literal world  ... to fulfill their cult's interpretation of "Biblical prophecy". 


They foster magical thinking, which significantly compromises children's ability to distinguish fantasy from reality [link], which results in adults who are extra-vulnerable to manipulation via propaganda, conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, political cults, and religious cults.

Bad Faith Actors (in governments and religious organizations) then use those specific results of magical thinking to weaponize billions of followers against Climate Research and solutions (for example).

That, in turn, perpetually hastens rising ocean levels.

That, in turn, erodes coastal land.

That, in turn, causes the loss of landmass, homes, businesses, and entire communities. 

It is also causing radical changes in ocean temperatures, salt levels, and light filtration.

That, in turn, is causing the death of plant and marine life on the ocean floor. 

That, in turn, is causing the rapid loss of fishing lanes.

It's also collapsing essential pillars of life in our ecosystem;
 by killing off the smallest organisms that larger marine animals depend on. 


It also prevents the reduction of pollution in air, soil, and seas; across the world.

That, in turn, results in sustained higher rates of suffering via disabling and deadly diseases (even among children).

It also results in global unrest and wars, as climate change displaces large regions of people and causes local governments to scheme, compete, and fight over land and resources.

Amid all that orchestrated chaos and suffering,
those very same religions exploit all of that as an opportunity to sell fraudulent afterlife-insurance policies; which they advertise as "free" but which are actually very expensive.
It's how they recruit new members;
which they gradually use for profit, social influence, and political power.
Meanwhile, Catholic and Protestant religious organizations (from the top down; all across the globe) function as pedophile rings that do everything they can to protect abusers from being discovered and prosecuted.

Note:
 This is actually NOT a perversion of "biblical principles",
because every single mention of "marriage" in Bibles is actually talking about the child-trafficking sex trade of Second Temple Judaism and 1st Century Christianity. 

 Just as importantly,  the magical thinking in Christianity IS bible-based.
And that is primarily responsible for how unsafe those religious communities are.
