A running list of "Forms of violence" committed by Christian fundamentalists
Gaslighting is a form of psychological violence. Sabotaging children's education by LYING to them about reality is a form of psychological violence. DEMONIZING natural and healthy thoughts and feelings is a form of psychological violence. Convincing (or, attempting to convince) someone their own thoughts and feelings are sometimes coming from invisible BEINGS, ... and that SOME of those beings are "perfect", just so that they'll keep surrendering to your religion's influence over them, specifically because they're MISTAKING that influence as a perfect and "Holy" Spirit (which 'ought not be questioned'), ... is a form of psychological violence. It's also a form of violating consent, via bypassing their ability to withhold it. Additionally, .. Convincing (or, attempting to convince) someone their own thoughts and feelings are sometimes coming from invisible BEINGS, and that SOME of those beings are "evil", just so that they'll FEAR and AVOID anything on your religion's list of "wrong" thoughts and feelings (which is really just anything that might risk undermining your church's control over them), ... is a form of psychological violence. Also, ... COMPARING anyone to the IMPOSSIBLE standard of "perfection" just so that they'll "fall short", just so they'll feel SHAME about that, just so you'll have some crippling shame to "save" them from, just so they'll SUBMIT and SURRENDER to you (and your religion's) authority over their entire IDENTITY, just so your church can control, exploit, and weaponize them (even against their own interests) "in the name of Love" ... are forms of psychological violence. [I have other and longer lists in older blogs. I'll merge those into one list later; whenever I find the time]
