Christians. Still failing to understand the relationship between power and ethics.

"No, we are his hands and feet. It's up to us to be charitable and caring and the blame is greedy governments."
Lisa Goodson

Lisa,
who do you think designed humans?

If a Super-Being designed humans and designed the way physics and nature work, ...
then that Super-Being caused all of this.

Humans didn't design humans to be ignorant at birth.

Humans didn't designed humans to REMAIN ignorant unless they get really lucky with how they are educated.

Humans didn't design humans to be so easily tricked into
highly confident
yet factually incorrect (and disastrous) understandings about themselves and the world around them.

Humans didn't design humans to turn out evil if they didn't get well-nurtured as children.

Humans didn't design humans to sometimes have genetics that help make them horrible without the horrible person even realizing it.

Humans didn't design humans with neurophysiological causes of exaggerated fear and hate.

-Fear that ALWAYS seems totally justified to the person who experiences it.

- HATE that usually seem totally like " not hate" but rather seems/feels like "righteous indignation" and thus (again) seems totally justified to the experiencer while they are feeling it.

Humans didn't design human brains to experience prolonged super-extremes of nerve-based pains and emotional pains.

We really only need a small fraction of those pains, to let us know we need to make changes.

Worse yet,
some pains can't be cured by current science or available actions.
So who designed us to have the larger ocean of those pains (often inescapable pains) that we suffer until we drown in?

Humans also didn't design humans brains to be so BAD at processing trauma that our brains (quite often) immediately develop PTSD.

Humans didn't design PTSD to often be so overwhelming that it forces people into perpetual survival-mode;
-which then seriously limits their ability to function;
-which thus either causes them to treat others poorly OR handicaps their ability to help others or even themselves.

Humans didn't design religions that encourage people to spend so much time, energy, and money on WARNING people about what a "God" will DO to everyone who doesn't join.
Oh wait.
Actually, yea.
Humans did invent those.
And Christianity is one of the worst.

Think of all the education, skill-development, career-development, time, energy, and money that does NOT help relieve suffering in this world
...
because all that time and energy went into church-service, "missionary work", and pressuring women into service as baby-vending machines (forcing families to be selfish with their money; except for how much they give their church) for religions that are effectively just mafias.

I'm sure you have great intentions.
But until today, you have not really thought very deeply or clearly about this.
And why not?
Because your religious culture intentionally sabotaged your education.

You could decide to grow past the limits they set for you.
Or, if you'd rather not do that growing,
then at least learn to recognize your limits.

If you feel inspired to do good in the world because of your religious narrative, then fine.
Go do good in the world.

You'll never be able to compensate for the damage your religion does in the world.
But it'll be nice to see you at least trying.

I'd say the same to any Muslim, Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Hindu, etc..

But if you want there to be a place for you in adult conversations (or voting booths),
we'll need you to get caught up to speed first.
