Wishful Thinking Doesn't Make It So. Neither Is The Slave Mind Conducive To An Empowered Life
Someone asked:
"If anyone is searching for real truth in this day and age of deception on every side. why not trust a reliable source?
I have found the only reliable source for me is someone who cannot lie, on whose very laws the universe is controlled.
I believe the very essence of God's (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) words is truth; and all His just regulations will stand forever.
Can you think of a more infallible source of truth?"
-----
I too would LOVE IT if there was an infallible and personally invested super-parent
who could help guide me in life.
But I wouldn't rely on that any more than I had to.
And the goal would be to reach a point where I seldom need any advice.
And yet, ...
wanting something
or
even feeling a need for something
doesn't make it so.
So we can't really justify saying "Well, since I'm screwed without X, then X must exist".
Reality doesn't work that way.
Instead, we must accept full responsibility;
figuring it all out as we go,
to the best of our abilities.
However, ...
Rumors persist
that such a super-parent exists and ~stands ready~ to offer such assistance (and more!).
Now, depsite how very very non-credible the claim of Magic Parent In Sky may be, ...
I can see ~setting aside some time~
to look into such claims.
Perhaps someone could play a few hours less of video games, for a few weeks,
while they look into it.
And yet,
let's be clear about this next point:
Any interest or effort to look into those claims
neither hints at
nor otherwise indicates
moral character
nor wisdom.
It only indicates either casual curiosity
or someone who is emotionally desperate.
It's perfectly reasonable
if someone doesn't bother looking into it.
- Just like there's nothing wrong with a financially-poor person deciding NOT to look for Leprechauns or genies.
It wouldn't be reasonable to say to someone
"It's your own fault that you're still poor.
You heard the rumors about leprechauns and genies.
But you have stubbornly refused to hunt for any".
----
We should also notice:
In a world where billions of people claim to have found a magical Being know as a god, ...
they can't agree about ANY of the details which define that magical entity.
Most believers claim it's all the same "God".
Any yet, ...
They can't agree on character, agenda, powers, behaviors, threats, promises, terms-and-conditions, or anything else.
The video I'm linking [here]
does a great job of looking at this issue.
However,
we can set all of that aside too.
We can still look into the claims made in bibles.
Problem is:
Bibles
are books of rumors;
created by insecure and entitled men;
imagining themselves as White Knights.
They were posturing as rescuers
to the downtrodden;
as a means to leverage exploitative power
over the the very people they were offering to help.
That's always how it works
when a self-identified messenger
is relying a message from "God".
But it didn't start there;
nor will it end there.
It always traces back
to many other insecure and entitled men
in an era of ignorance and superstition, ...
saying basically:
"ππππ πΈ π ππ πππ πππππ, ...
π πππππππ πππππ πππππππ ππ’ ππππ πππ ππππππππ πππππππππ ππππππππ.

And yet ...
what does Magic Man In Sky
allegedly
tell them
to tell us?
Crap.
But what kind of crap?
Irrational,
ambiguous,
cryptic,
silly,
emotionally manipulative,
and blatantly abusive crap.
What else?
Bad advice,
bad logic,
factually-wrong fact-claims,
and stories they copied and adapted
from other religious cultures;
often with comically absurd results.
Every once in a while, ...
they'll say something fairly obvious but otherwise true and potentially helpful;
in a stew of otherwise stupid and toxic things.
Meanwhile, the various writers
couldn't even agree with each other
about what "God" said.
It's exactly what we should expect
from random religious cultists
in the bronze and iron age
making it all up as they went along.
- And then later religious sects "fixing" the stories to fit better with their own views.
There is a lot more that we could get into;
but this is just an overview of the claims.
I'm sorry.
I know you were hoping that your favorite book of magics
would be a healthy and sound source of guidance for your life's journey.
But it's not.
You can pretend it is;
if that's what you decide to do.
But if we're really going to be honest about this,
religions don't lead people to truth.
They lead people away from truth of self.
They also lead people away from health.
They also lead us away from
maturing into fully healthy, autonomous, and accountable adults.
This is why it has been said, ...
kill him. (<--- link)
"
Never shrink (overly humble yourself);
- not even for an insure and entitled "messenger"
who mistakes their own ego for everyone else's "God".
And never let any man
become your Batman.
