Jesus was profoundly unwell. Christianity drives others to un-wellness, in his name., .

Everyone has moments when they say something nice or smart.

But few ever get so hungry/angry at a fruit tree just because it doesn't have any fruit .. when it isn't even the season for it to have any fruit, ...
that they CURSE that tree to whither and die.

He was angry and irrational
about the laws of NATURE.
-the very same laws of nature that his "God" was supposed to have designed.

That character (in those stories) was clearly bipolar and schizophrenic.

He eventually lost his battle with mental illness; when the voice of his "Father" argued with him ...

and talked him into ending his own life; by other people's hands.

If that happened to a real person, then my heart cries for him.

But such extreme self-abuse is not a virtue.
But it's also not a moral failing, because people can't win a battle when:
they don't understand the nature of the battle, and
when they don't have access to the tools and help they'd need to overcome it.

Neither is it a virtue
for anyone to look around for an innocent martyr they can use a scapegoat;
just so they can evade accountability for their own failings.

Neither should it happen that when a person FINDS one (either in real life, or in a story book) ...
and then exclaims in JOY "I found exactly the sort of scapegoat I needed for that. It must be God's will".

---
As for the claims that his apostles and many other 1st/2nd Christians were martyred for their faith, ...

Scholars say that didn't actually happen.
But even if we assume it did, ...
that wouldn't really prove anything.

Muslims martyr themselves for beliefs in their stories too.

Many seek a ticket to heaven.
Some are actually willing to die soon just to assure their entry.
But that doesn't make their stories true.
They're not dying for facts.
They're dying for hope of rescue; from a life they never learned to love.
