That's a very unfair view.

She didn't say that was her reason.

She didn't even hint at what he reasons were.

She only expressed an awareness that she's better off.

Her original reasons, and even some extra later reasons, might not have had anything to do with that.

HOWEVER,
that would have been a great reason to leave.

There's nothing wrong with being L, G, B, T, etc.

It's super harmful to human psychology, to be bullied and demonized for natural aspects of who we are.

Catholicism (along other forms of fundamentalist and moderate Abrahamic religions)
is a hyper-abusive, fascist Mafia.

The real reason they're against abortion, against gays, against birth control (even against condom usage in AIDS-ridden nations), and encourage women to be used as baby-vending machines as their purpose in life, and brainwash kids and other vulnerable humans is:

They're constantly trying to win an overtly Authoritarian culture war;
for their own personal ambitions for power, privilege, and narcissism.

They realize they're more able to maintain their "strength in numbers" by literally bio-manufacturing young servants and agents (to replace their losses), and by causing-and-worsening poverty across the globe, so they can have people to "rescue" (White Knight) as a means of vulture-ing humans into their psychologically abusive, religiously-themed mafia-cult.

It's also entirely FACTUALLY WRONG.

The Hebrews were never a "true religion".
So the entire premise of later "Christian authority" is automatically bogus.

The whole thing is a scam.

Even the offer of "salvation" is ultimately just a Racketeering Scheme (protection racket);
where a mysterious BOSS (who doesn't even exist. Shhhh) ...
will protect you!

But protect you from what?

From what he will do to you
if you don't let him protect you.

And all that will COST YOU
is surrendering to the "authority" of his "messengers";
over every meaningful facet of your journey and identity;
including WHO and HOW you're allowed to LOVE.

And then they say "but we can talk later, about all the money and other sacrifices we'll be needing from you".

And if none of THAT works,
they'll let you know how WORTHLESS you are without (their) "God"; 
as they attempt to tear you down into an extreme form of self-deprecating codependence.  





That's when they'll tell you the "good news" ...
that HE is willing to "forgive you" for being unworthy;

of his love
and even the air you breathe.

-So that you might graduate INTO your amazing potential worth (worthiness to let-live. And even worthiness to not torture forever) ... as eternal PRAISE BOTS;

who will be resurrected (which really just means: replaced with a perfected ghost-clone) into a literal celestial kingdom, where you will NEVER AGAIN be able to have an unapproved thought, feeling, or action.  

-Because (as Bibles admit repeatedly)
ALL OF THIS (all that was ever created) has the ultimate purpose of bring glory to his name (his sense of identity).

Either prove adequately useful as a UTILITY for his ego,
or you're not even worth allowing to live
NOR worth allowing to rest in peace.

There has never been a more psychologically violent religion, in the entirety of human history
than traditional Christianity.

Your weaponized personality is just the kind of "fruit" that rotten tree produces.

That could, of course, be repaired. 
But you'd have to first want to become a kinder and more reasonable person. 

Meanwhile, 
it's not as-if you actually understand what science says about your religion or its books. 
 If you did, then you'd discover that science says your religion is utter bullshit.
