Christianity Is Practically The Same as Stoicism. So You Should Join Us!

 This is a screenshot of a post a Christian started today in a "Stoicism" group on Facebook.
 
He quoted an ancient and respected STOIC ...
out of context;
to make it appear as-if Seneca's wisdom naturally leads to Christianity,
and
as if Seneca intended his words to be understood as such. 

And he has a point.

Maybe you should ... pretend that Seneca meant literally the opposite of what he meant. 

Maybe you should ~Fear Death~;
a lot;
like it's about to catch up with you.

Dwell on your fragility, your vulnerability, and your mortality.

BE DESPERATELY AFRAID
so that you'll become mentally vulnerable enough
that my God-Awful Religion can prey upon that vulnerability
with logical fallacies like Pascal's Wager.

Because then,
if that works,
you'll surrender to US as a moral authority over your life,
who gets to TELL YOU ~who you are~,
what your life's meaning and purpose are,
what you AREN'T worth,
and what you CAN BE WORTH,
if you submit to "God"
but surrendering to us.

Don't you WANT and NEED to be validated by someone other than yourself?

Don't you WANT and NEED that to be a parental figure?

Don't you FEEL unqualified to govern your own life,
find your own sense of purpose,
and think for yourself?

Don't you WANT and NEED a larger-than-life hover-parent
to be an eternally-dependent CHILD to?

Don't you WANT and NEED to HOPE that a "God" will someday reward lucky-guessing his favorite religion,
by permanently TAKING AWAY your ability to ever-again have an unapproved feeling, thought, or action?

Don't you WANT and NEED to evade all accountability for your failings and transgressions,
by scapegoating those onto an innocent martyr?

Don't you WANT and NEED for that innocent martyr to be tortured and KILLED while holding your "sins" for you,
so that his death can serve as a HUMAN SACRIFICE, to appease an ancient tribal cult's wrathful deity ...
who is having a hard time "forgiving" you for being
~exactly the way he made you~?

Don't you WANT and NEED to pretend the Hebrew religion didn't get pretty much everything wrong about history, science, and morality?

Don't you WANT and NEED for a religion that claims to be "totally not a religion" ...
and is BASED ON the authority of an even-older proven-false religion?

Wouldn't it be "wrong" for anyone to state contrary views, or share FACTS, LOGIC, and ETHICS to support contrary views with?

 Isn't that kind of free speech dangerous?

Shouldn't our religion be PRIVILEGED in every society to promote false-facts and logical fallacies, to recruit for our abusive religion, 
 while it's seen as hateful to speak directly contrary to us?

Shouldn't societies (and Facebook groups) pretend our religion isn't built upon the premise that ALL OTHER WORLDVIEWS (including Stoicism; except when it's mixed with Christianity) are wrong and evil?

Don't you WANT and NEED to join a "totally not a religion" that has a list of things you:
better think/feel/say/do
and an even longer list of things you:
better NOT think/feel/say/do,
but then claims "there are no rules"?

Don't you WANT and NEED to join a "totally not a religion"
that can't even get through a single conversation without contradicting itself?

Gas Lighting
is the good and true light
that leads to everlasting life. 

Don't you WANT and NEED to be "forgiven" for being less than perfect?

Don't you WANT and NEED to be "forgiven" for being UNWORTHY OF THE AIR YOU BREATHE?
Don't you WANT the gift of that "grace"? 

Don't you WANT and NEED to join a religion that literally defines EVERY SINGLE VIRTUE by the exact opposite of what dictionaries (and sane people) mean by those words,
and then pretends to mean the same thing?

Don't you WANT and NEED to help us win a CULTURE WAR, to help us ascend into even greater social and political power,
knowing that we INTEND to keep abusing that power?

Don't you WANT and NEED to help us push abusive rhetoric into the societal consciousness and unconsciousness? 

Don't you WANT and NEED to help religions like ours
remain the sole driving force behind thousands of LGBT child suicides every year,
and hundreds of thousands of youth to experience suicide-level pain every year? 

Don't you WANT and NEED to support a larger religious domain which joyfully SEEKS a literal end of the world, as a fulfillment of our "prophecies", and who infiltrates world governments in the hopes of helping to make that happen in our lifetime?

Don't you WANT and NEED to submit to a mysterious BOSS 
that owns this town, 
owns you,
and will violently torture and/or kill you (not necessarily in that order) if you don't submit to his "authorized agents"?
 (we can wait until later, 
 to talk about the "donations" we'll be needing from you).

  That is a very nice soul you have there.
 It would be a shame ... if something 
bad happened to it.

  Doesn't it make sense that GOD would organize his favorite religion as a Racketeering Scheme?

[Note: The exact religious faction that is the "true" religion will depend on the arbitrary version of whichever "authorized agent" is attempting to recruit you]

Don't you WANT and NEED to join a religion that literally worships the mental projection of a Supreme Clinical Narcissist and Psychopath,
and calls upon all believers to function as Flying Monkeys, as we go around wrecking lives in the name of "saving" people ... from their own humanity?
