The MAD KING of Christianity; a totalitarian demagogue for the ages.

It seems, to me,

unlikely

that any super-everything super-being
would design humans to greatly value freedom of thought, feeling, and expression, ...

and then judge us all worthy of death (or worse) if we would not choose to be fearful slaves instead;

- until the day Stockholm Syndrome can finally transform us into people who identify with our captors;
and thus, finally, ... wouldn't have it any other way.

To hear Christians tell it, ... we should all be HOPING for a day when that Totalitarian figure would forever remove the "burden" of even being CAPABLE of unapproved thoughts, feelings, or expression.

--

It's even more bizarre, to suppose such a figure would author texts ... THREATENING people into compliance, while claiming to respect "free will";

- as if coercion isn't automatically a direct attack on someone's freedom to assess and choose.

Even Pascal admitted that YES ... that attempt at coercion is there.

He then wagered ... perhaps we should all surrender to it, just in case that threat made exclusively by humans ... really came from a mysterious and violent KING ...

who just hasn't shown up yet with his army, to brutally slay (or torture) everyone ("in the name of love") who hasn't preemptively surrendered.
