Discerning what is "true"

A desperate Theist presented this garble of bullshit, in a random debate group.
"Premise 1: materialism = spacetime and matter are all that exist

Premise 2: premise 1 is a truth claim that exists
Premise 3: truth is not made of/with spacetime or matter
*edit at recommendation*
Since materialism makes a truth claim while excluding the existence of truth, materialism is false
If/then statement:

If materialism is false, then more than materials exist in reality (don’t conflate material reality and reality)" --------
My reply:

I would define "matter" as: energy in obital patterns. Those patters determine the properties of the matter.

Energy exists.
Matter exists.

I extend the meaning of "material" to include all energy; since energy is a physical phenomenon; it's an expression of physics in action.
---

Literal objects literally exist; as material objects.

Abstracts
always represent
living and non-living objects,
the activities of objects,
the states of objects,
and the relationships between objects.
----

"Supernatural" is a wildcard.
It's a place-holder for a concept that an invoker(card-player) does not have, and cannot identify or define.
As such, it's literally a nonsense word.
It's a cheat.
It's garbage.
-----

"Truth" can mean either:
a.) that which is objectively factual
or
b.) any communication devoid (absent; clean) of any attempt to deceive.

-----

In regards to:
any claim
that anything
is objectively factual:

In order for a person to be rational and consistent,
every claim utterd should be an expression of:
degrees of confidence.
This isn't precisely quantifiable.
But choice of words should reflect a fair estimate of confidence.

Likewise, every claim heard ... should be evaluated as a matter of "how much confidence in that claim (as being factually honest and accurate) can I justify?"

Degrees of confidence
should scale with the evident odds of a thing being likely.

People are fallible, real-world experiences-and-awareness varies, and perceptions are highly subjective.
As such, all we can expect from our self and others ... is an earnest attempt to asses odds of theories and claims being factually correct.

The less common a claimed "fact" (object's: state, activity, or relationship) is perceived by an audience to be (audience: hearer of a claim), ...

the less confidence that audience can justify adopting ... that the claim is likely to be honest and factual.
---
All truths
are about either:

a.) real objects (although, some prefer a term like "subject" whenever an object in a statement is sentient. It still means the same thing. We're talking about nouns; persons, places, or things).
or
b.) abstracts which represent real objects.

- Thus, "b" takes a step back to examine "a". But it's still ultimately about "a".
-----
Consideration of "Premise 3: truth is not made of/with spacetime or matter":

Truth IS made of/with spacetime and matter.

Thoughts are provoked by
and are about:
things that exist in spacetime and consist of matter.

Thoughts are enabled by, caused by, and are an expression of real physical processes
happening in a physical mind,
as physical energy
storming coherently
through a brain
and
'as' a mind.
-------
If we want to say something "doesn't really exist", we can say "that claimed real-thing
1. does not occupy any space,
2. does not have a working relationship with time,
and
3. does not consist of any energy".
If we want to say something that does exist has a "mind", and awareness,
we are automatically saying 1 -3.
- And
we are adding:

Coherent patterns of energy are actively moving across a matrix of connected pathways, generating consciousness in the process, and providing a continuation of thoughts; as each thought provokes and sets the stage for the next.

---
If there is a pre-ancient, super-intelligence, with unfathomable powers, ...
it has a mind, that mind depends upon some form of energy, small happenings (energetic events) are collectively generating thoughts, and that "substance" (a term preferred by the writers of early Christian creeds) does occupy some form of space, and does have a working relationship with time in order to experience thoughts.

To say it doesn't have those things, ... is the same as saying "does not exist".
